About Me:

Narlin is pronounced “Narleen”

Narlin Smith, APRN, is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner via telehealth at Diversus Health. She is a dual licensed Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who specializes in treating adults with intellectual and developmental delays, as well as a full range of psychiatric concerns in the general adult population.

Having grown up in remote Alaska, Narlin has experienced first hand the unique challenges of living in areas with limited access to healthcare. She is passionate about eliminating those barriers and providing quality care to all. She has chosen Diversus Health as she believes in the mission of providing exceptional behavioral health care to our community one patient at a time.

Narlin attended graduate school at South University in Florida for Family Practice in 2018, and received her Post-Master’s Certificate as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Regis College in Massachusetts in 2020. Prior to this, she was an inpatient psychiatric nurse for several years after graduating from South University in Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing in 2016. She has worked in private practice, community health centers, inpatient psychiatric facilities, Federally Qualified Health Centers, assisted living facilities, as well as homeless outreach programs through shelters and county jail systems.

“I prescribe to the notion that patients are best cared for when they feel they are able to convey their needs and desires and understand the plan of care. I want patients to be an active participant in their care as part of a holistic approach and feel empowered on the path to wellness. I also believe it is important to meet patients where they are in their current stage of life, and to be culturally competent and sensitive to various situations and needs.”

In her free time, Narlin enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and being outdoors. She enjoys cooking, reading and all things Disney.

Thank you, Diversus Health! For your services and for opening a new facility closer to my home. Your care has saved my life. - Carl
