Teresa Jennette Sterck – MA, NLC, CAT

Education & Credentials:

Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, University of Phoenix

Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, University of Phoenix

About Me:

My name is Teresa Sterck. I have my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from University of Phoenix and am currently an unlicensed counselor and An Addiction Counseling Technician working toward Licensed Addiction Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor status.

The frameworks that I utilize in my practice includes mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, experiential therapy, and more. I find it personally fulfilling and professionally satisfying to work with individuals with addiction, co-occurring mental health issues, those with persistent mental health issues, and trauma. I approach therapy from a client centered focus, meaning the therapy provided is geared toward working on your specific goals and building a life that works for you.

I believe in second, third, and “whatever” chances and that no one is so broken that they cannot build a life that has meaning and purpose. I believe that every person, regardless of race, ability, creed, sexual identity, orientation, or status has the right to build a life that works for them, provides opportunity for happiness, without hurting themselves or others. Every individual has his, her, their own challenges and sometimes life can seem overwhelming. My role as a therapist is not to fix anyone, but to offer my insight, knowledge, and perspective as, you, the client, find your strength, value, and purpose in a life that works for you. Therapy has no guarantees, but I can promise I will always do my best for my clients.

I have had two therapists at Diversus Health. Both were outstanding, supportive, and understanding. My therapists went above and beyond my expectations and truly cared about my recovery. A huge thank you! - Chris
