Adam Roberts currently serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Diversus Health, a community mental health center with operations across El Paso, Park, and Teller Counties. Mr. Roberts has held his current role since May of 2019. During his tenure at Diversus Health, Mr. Roberts has focused on developing a vision and strategy, restructuring the organization, improving internal and external stakeholders experience, and improving service delivery and operations. In response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Roberts oversaw the organization’s shift to a telehealth model of outpatient services in a span of 48-hours, minimizing the disruption of services to communities.

About Me

Committed to positioning the organization for long-term success through leveraging stakeholder experience as a differentiator, Mr. Roberts has led a shift in culture to position the organization to be more client-centric. This included overseeing a comprehensive rebranding initiative that transitions the name of the organization from AspenPointe to Diversus Health.
Mr. Roberts currently serves as an executive board member of Community Health Partnership, a Colorado Springs based non-profit focused on improving overall community health in El Paso County and was recently selected to the Colorado Springs Leadership Institute.
Before being selected as Diversus Health’s President and CEO, Mr. Roberts served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Valley-Wide Health Systems Inc., a Federally Qualified Health Center in Southern Colorado. He was responsible for the implementation of the organization’s strategic plan as well as the development of the organization’s behavioral health service line, which moved it toward operating fully-integrated healthcare clinics.
Prior to serving as Valley-Wide’s COO, Mr. Roberts worked as a senior staff member with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) health care system both in Texas and in Colorado, where he was recognized as an improvement expert and is credited with saving millions of dollars for the VHA health care system while improving patient care and patient experience.
Mr. Roberts is a Colorado native and grew up in Alamosa before moving to Denver, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Cum Laude) with an emphasis in International Business, Marketing, and Finance from Regis University. He received a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in Health Administration from the University of Colorado Denver, where he is now a board member on the Colorado Health Administration Alumni Association and facilitates an executive mentorship program.
Additionally, Mr. Roberts received Black Belt and Master Black Belt training in Lean Six Sigma at the U.S. Army Medical Department Center and School, Fort Sam Houston, in San Antonio, Texas, and, more recently, completed the 2018 UCLA/Johnson & Johnson Health Care Executive Program.

About Me
Kevin Light oversees the Financial Operations at Diversus Health and in his leadership capacity, provides timely and accurate financial information to guide the company’s financial strategy and positioning. Additionally, Mr. Light’s responsibilities include the protection of Diversus Health assets and allocating appropriate resources to meet the Diversus Health Mission, Vision, and Strategic Initiatives. Mr. Light has been with the company for over 14 years and was drawn to not-for-profit work that supports a strong mission. Being presented with an opportunity to help people positively change their lives was a motivating factor when he joined the organization, and this passion still drives his work today. Mr. Light completed his graduate coursework in Database Designs in 2003 and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance in 1991 from the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs. He enjoys golf, fishing and being in the mountains during his spare time.

About Me
Cathy has lived in Colorado Springs for 30 years and is a Colorado native. She grew up in Pueblo and the San Luis Valley. She attended Regis University, earning her undergraduate degree in finance then pursuing an MBA from Grand Canyon University (GCU), and in April 2022 completed a Master’s in organizational psychology from GCU. Cathy had recently been a member of Health Colorado, Inc., the Medicaid regional accountable entity for Southeastern Colorado, Region 4 serving 19 rural and frontier counties. In her role at Health Colorado, Inc she served as Chief Operations Officer. Cathy has prior community mental health experience working for San Luis Valley Behavioral Health Group as the Chief Financial Officer and at Solvista Health as the Deputy Chief Financial Officer. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering in the community. She previously served on the Board of Directors with Pikes Peak Children’s Museum and with NAMI. Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors for Southern Colorado Harm Reduction. Her hobbies include spending time with family, travel, baking, and cooking.

Scott Martin has over 30 years of IT experience, mostly in the healthcare field, but has experience in the telecommunications, logistics and software technology industries. Most recently he was the Chief Information Officer at the Alabama Department of Mental Health. He holds a Bachelor's of Science in Information Technology from the University of Alabama, and a Master's in Business Administration from Columbia Southern University. About Me
Dr. Michel has a long history with Diversus Health as he served 20 years as CMO for Diversus Health eight years ago when we were still AspenPointe. Dr. Michel is originally from Washington state and attended medical school in Seattle at the University of Washington where he met his spouse, Sarah. Dr. Michel and Sarah then moved to Denver where he completed his Adult Psychiatry and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry residencies. Dr. Michel has experience working with the Air Force as an active-duty Captain and Child Psychiatrist. Most recently, he has served as CMO at Mental Health Partners in Boulder for 4 years and CMO at Summit Stone Health in Fort Collins for another 4 years.

About Me
Katie Blickenderfer was born and raised in Iowa. She attended the University of Northern Iowa, graduating in 2008 with a degree in social work and psychology, before continuing at UNI for her graduate studies in social work until 2009. Ms. Blickenderfer participated in the Allen Hospital Inpatient residency program following her graduation. At Diversus Health, Ms. Blickenderfer oversees our outpatient mental health and substance use services. As the Chief Clinical Officer, her work focuses on programming initiatives and projects that help to improve and expand our counseling services provided to individuals in our community. She chose to pursue her career at Diversus Health because her passion for social work draws her to the mental health community for which she is grateful to have the opportunity to engage. Ms. Blickenderfer welcomes the occasions when she can walk alongside our clients who are undergoing the recovery process. She is thankful to have learned so much in her ten years at Diversus Health, in various roles of direct care and leadership, and she looks forward to continuing to transform the care we provide to individuals within our community. Beyond her work with Diversus Health, Ms. Blickenderfer enjoys doing puzzles, playing board games, reading, spending time with her family and friends, and hiking, biking, and running in the great outdoors.

About Me
Gene Contreras was born and raised in Pueblo, Colorado. He attended the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, where he graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with an emphasis on finance, in 1990. He later went on to study at the University of Washington, Pacific Coast Banking School, where he obtained his master’s degree in banking, in 2003. At Diversus Health, Mr. Contreras oversees the Accounting Department and Revenue Cycle Management, as well as their key components, including accounts payable, medical billing, and budgeting/forecasting. He also supervises the Purchasing Department and Contract Administration for Diversus Health. Mr. Contreras chose to pursue his career at Diversus Health because the organization is instrumental to the history of Colorado Springs and is a key community asset. He enjoys working with caring professionals who aspire to give back, while improving our community. In his free time, Mr. Contreras enjoys being a competitive open racquetball player. His favorite pastimes include skiing, hiking, and hanging out with his family and friends.

About Me
Born in Nebraska, Andrea Campbell was raised as a military dependent with family members in the Air Force. She attended Montana State University for her nursing degree, graduating in 2007, before pursuing her graduate studies at Walden University for Nursing Informatics. She obtained her master’s degree in 2012. At Diversus Health, Ms. Campbell is responsible for overseeing the Performance Improvement Program, which includes providing direction and coordination of quality assurance, data analytics, and project/performance management initiatives. She coordinates planned, systemic, and institutional approaches for identification, design, measurement, prioritization, and monitoring of quality initiatives to achieve quality outcomes. Additionally, Ms. Campbell establishes and implements performance improvement methodologies to elevate operational and client care services, while working to diminish errors. Ms. Campbell chose to pursue her career with Diversus Health in order to utilize her unique skills and experience in the behavioral and mental health field. She offers diverse experiences in a variety of fields, including nursing, health care, information technology, quality assurance, and process improvements. In her free time, Ms. Campbell enjoys spending time with her husband, her three children, and her dogs. Her hobbies include traveling, camping, fishing, snowboarding, playing horseshoes, as well as fostering rescue dogs.

About Me
Trish Turner is a Human Resource and Professional Development professional who specializes in benefits, ERISA, employee relations, employment law issues, and identifying solutions for business through the administration function. She is both a Senior Professional Human Resource Professional (SPHR) as well as a Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). Trish is a trained Fiduciary and is gifted at working through employee relations issues and has resolved many major litigious cases for former employers. Trish holds a double Master of Arts degree in both Human Resources and Management from Webster University. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from Florida State University. In her 25+ year career, she has won a multitude of awards, a few of which include the 2016 HR Leader of the Year Award conferred by the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, the 2014 Technology Project of the Year also from the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, the 2009 Diversity Award from the Greater Miami Society for Human Resource Management, and the 2007 R.E.A.C.T. Award from the State of Florida for the ethical treatment of employees through a W.A.R.N. ACT resolution with a State Agency. Trish is an educator at heart and has taught courses at several colleges throughout her career. Her favorite courses to teach are Organizational Behavior and Organizational Development, along with certification prep classes for students wanting to further their degree in HR. Rebecca McCay was born in La Junta, Colorado and was raised in Colorado Springs. Her educational journey includes Pikes Peak Community College where she received her Associate's Degree in Nursing, UCCS Bethel School of Nursing where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, University of Phoenix where she received her Master’s Degree in Nursing with a focus in Nursing Administration, and Grand Canyon University where she received her Doctorate in Nursing Practice. She has worked in community healthcare over the last 18 years as a nurse and an executive operational leader. Dr. McCay oversees the Inpatient Acute Treatment Unit, Outpatient Psychiatry, Transitional Care Coordination, Nursing Programing, and Infection Control for Diversus Health. As the Vice President of Nursing she strives to collaborate with the community and connect community members in need to appropriate services. About Me
Jeff Weston was born in Illinois, grew up in Wisconsin, and has now lived in Colorado longer than anywhere else. He has attended the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee (BA in History), Hamline University School of Law (JD), and University of Colorado - Colorado Springs (MBA). Mr. Weston works with the Purchasing, Contract and Legal Departments, and while working with the current staff has integrated many of their functions. He appreciates managing the variety of legal issues presented at Diversus Health and has worked with most of the departments throughout the organization. Mr. Weston enjoys playing new golf courses, traveling, reading, working crossword puzzles and taking the family canines to the dog park.

About Me
Fueled by a passion for helping at-risk youth, Lauren earned her undergraduate degree in psychology and her master’s in professional counseling. Lauren has worked extensively with at-risk youth in a variety of settings. She also has experience in acute inpatient care. Lauren spent twelve years at a large managed healthcare organization, where she held various roles supporting the business process and strategy, which led her to pursue an MBA. Observing the world becoming more accepting of behavioral health care post-pandemic, Lauren was eager to return to the provider space. She chose Diversus Health because of its solid reputation, clinical services, and the communities served. Lauren moved to Colorado Springs from Phoenix, Arizona after visiting with her family in 2021 and falling in love with the scenery and people. Outside of work, Lauren enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, reading, and cheering on the Switchbacks!

Dr. Marzil Rutenberg is the Vice President of Strategic Project Management, bringing over 15 years of experience optimizing project management functions and operations. She holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Development and Leadership with a specialization in Enterprise Risk Management from the University of Arizona, an MBA, a Master's in Public Administration, and dual bachelor's degrees in law and political science. Dr. Rutenberg's expertise is underscored by her multiple professional certifications, including Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile Leadership (CAL), and ASQ's Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. Her dissertation on executive leadership and risk management practices during COVID-19 was featured in the World Health Organization's Research Database, highlighting her contributions to the field. In her previous roles, Dr. Rutenberg led global net-new, existing, and business transformation projects that generated average annual revenues ranging from $ 58 to $110 million. She successfully managed go-to-market initiatives in North America and oversaw CopyXact projects across EMEA and APAC regions, demonstrating her ability to lead high-performing global teams. Dr. Rutenberg is dedicated to community development and social justice. She has led United Nations-sponsored projects in Zimbabwe for women and children survivors of domestic abuse and completed 45 grassroots socio-economic initiatives in SE Asia. Her involvement with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) further exemplifies her commitment to child advocacy. Whenever she can, she loves to travel with her family to explore cultures, savor culinary delights, and engage in impactful volunteer work. During her free time, she loves to hang out with her family, travel internationally, read books, watch anime and Sci-Fi movies, visit museums, and play ukulele.

Originally from Houston, Texas, and now calling Colorado Springs home, Caitlin Maldonado brings over 10 years of experience in healthcare operations to her role at Diversus Health. Coming from a large health system, Caitlin has extensive experience in acute care hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and physician practices. She obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a minor in Accounting from the University of Houston before continuing on towards a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Additionally, Caitlin is a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, reflecting her commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence. Passionate about healthcare and dedicated to the well-being of others, Caitlin believes in the power of kindness, guided by the quote, "Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a harder battle." She strives to create a supportive environment where every team member feels empowered to make a positive impact and contribute to making the world a better place.
