About Me:
I grew up in a small rural town in southeast Texas. When I was a growing and maturing teenager, I discovered my two greatest passions: helping others with their mental health and music. These passions inspired me to pursue a bachelor’s degree in music therapy at Sam Houston State University. During my studies, I had the incredible opportunity to complete an internship in Colorado Springs at a private practice specializing in working with individuals with special needs and neurologic disabilities. This experience deepened my commitment to therapeutic work and expanded my perspective on holistic care.
Eager to broaden my knowledge and enhance my practice, I pursued a master’s degree in social work at Colorado State University – Pueblo. My journey led me to Diversus Health, an organization whose mission to provide accessible, high-quality mental health care aligns with my own values. I am proud to be part of a team that makes a meaningful difference in the community.
My philosophy of care is rooted in an eclectic approach tailored to each client’s unique needs, situations, and preferences. I incorporate evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered Therapy to foster a supportive, nurturing, and accepting therapeutic environment.
Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, snowboarding, and traveling, as well as attending rock and metal concerts. I’m also an avid guitarist who loves exploring the intersection of music and wellness in both my personal life and professional practice.
