About Me:

Work experience: I have worked from my rural hometown hospital in every available nursing role, including the emergency room and intensive care units at a Level 1 trauma center. I used to take travel nurse contracts in small towns in Kansas and Oklahoma where I realized the extent of untreated mental illness in rural communities.

I grew up in small town Kansas where there was limited access to healthcare, especially psychiatry, so I have a passion for helping the underserved, which drew me to Diversus Health. Drug addiction is rampant where I grew up and the options for getting help are minimal and that is something I wanted to change. I was inspired to pursue psychiatry after witnessing a loved one struggle with addiction and mental illness and not be able to receive the care they needed until moving to Colorado. I’m a laid-back provider who will meet you where you are in your journey without judgement. I believe in using the approach that we are a team who will make decisions about your mental healthcare together.

Other diagnoses I enjoy working with besides substance use are trauma disorders, anxiety and depressive disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my partner and our 3 cats, traveling and trying new places to eat, and going camping whenever I can.

The services here are great, even with the pandemic, we have continued to receive treatment via video conferencing. It has been wonderful. - Autumn
